Welcome to Reelm ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our series and movie tracking application for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect (spoiler: very little), how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we don't do. Reelm does NOT collect:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your Apple ID or account details
• Your location data
• Your IP address
• Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
• Your viewing habits for advertising purposes
• Any data that could personally identify you

3. Information Stored Locally

Reelm stores the following information locally on your device:

• TV series and movies you follow and their status
• Episodes and films you've marked as watched
• Your ratings and reviews
• Your watchlist and wishlisted content
• Your viewing schedule preferences
• Notification settings
• App preferences (theme, language, etc.)

This data is stored in your device's local storage and is not transmitted to our servers.

4. iCloud Synchronization

If you have iCloud enabled, Reelm uses Apple's iCloud to sync your data across your devices (iPhone, iPad, and Mac). This means:

• Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account
• Synchronization is handled entirely by Apple
• We have no access to your iCloud data
• Your data is protected by Apple's security measures
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device settings

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 The Movie Database (TMDB)

Reelm uses the TMDB API to provide TV series and movie information, including:

• Show and movie titles, descriptions, and metadata
• Episode information and air dates
• Poster images and artwork
• Cast and crew information

When you search for shows or view series details, requests are made to TMDB's servers. These requests do not include any personal information. TMDB's privacy policy is available at themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.

5.2 Anonymous Analytics

We collect minimal, anonymous analytics to help improve the app. This includes:

• Device type and iOS version (e.g., "iPhone, iOS 17")
• App version
• General feature usage (which screens are viewed)
• Crash reports

This data is fully anonymized and cannot be used to identify you. We use this information solely to fix bugs and improve the app experience. Analytics data is automatically deleted after 13 months.

5.3 Apple App Store

If you make an in-app purchase (Reelm Pro), the transaction is processed entirely by Apple. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was made, without any personal or payment information.

6. Push Notifications

Reelm can send you push notifications for:

• New episode releases for shows you follow
• Reminders based on your viewing schedule

Notifications are generated locally on your device based on data from TMDB. You can customize or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device's notification settings.

7. Data Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your information:

• All data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account
• We don't operate servers that store your personal data
• API communications with TMDB use secure HTTPS connections

8. Children's Privacy

Reelm does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collection of personal information from any user, regardless of age.

9. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible within the app
• Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data. Disable iCloud sync or delete iCloud data through your Apple account settings
• Portability: Your data stays with your Apple ID across devices
• Opt-out: Disable notifications and iCloud sync at any time

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
